Terms of use
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms apply to the Loudmark: Decibel Meter app (“Loudmark”), developed by Anees Studio (“we”). By using Loudmark you agree to them. They sit alongside the terms of the store you got it from: on iPhone, Apple’s standard licence agreement; on Android, the Google Play terms. If they disagree about a purchase, the store’s terms win.
Using Loudmark
Loudmark is free to use, with Loudmark Pro as an optional extra. The live meter, min, average and max, the graph, About as loud as and calibration are free, with no ads. You may use it for your own purposes. Please don’t copy, reverse-engineer or resell the app.
About the readings
Loudmark shows an approximate sound level, worked out from your phone’s microphone, for everyday reference. Phone microphones differ, are made for voices and may handle very quiet or very loud sounds poorly, so readings can be several decibels off. Loudmark is not a calibrated instrument or a sound level meter to any standard.
Don’t use Loudmark for legal, medical, hearing or workplace (occupational) noise purposes, or anywhere an inaccurate reading could cause harm. Noise logs you export show approximate levels from a phone and are not a calibrated measurement.
Loudmark Pro
- Loudmark Pro adds saved sessions and history, noise log export (PDF and CSV), the limit alert and accent colors. It is a one-time purchase: there is no subscription and nothing renews.
- The price is shown in the app before you buy, and Apple or Google charge it to your store account when you confirm.
- The purchase belongs to that store account. Tap “Restore purchases” to get it back on a new phone or after reinstalling. It is not shared through Family Sharing.
- The free part of Loudmark stays free; buying Pro doesn’t change it. Sessions you saved stay readable if a purchase is refunded.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
Changes and availability
We may change, add or remove features over time. If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top of this page; if the change is significant, we’ll say so in the app.
Liability
Loudmark is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from using the app, including from a reading you relied on. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the operator of Loudmark, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing in them limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law where you live. If a part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
